The team considers everything from function, aesthetics, safety to performance. They also ensure that all plant designs comply with all current Health, Safety and Environmental standards. The latest 3D design and analysis software is used to allow us to model each product before metal is cut – ensuring that the product has already been checked out for functionality, interferences, usability and maintenance access before manufacture. The software also links directly to our CNC production machinery bringing a superior quality product to the market. At Rapid we actively encourage innovation - everyone in the company has an input, however small, in the design and improvement of our product. The focus on Research & Development started by Bertie Pickering is continued with a dedicated department concentrating on improvements to the Rapid standard product range of mixers and plants. All new designs and innovations are rigorously tested by the R&D team on “in-house” test facilities and if required we have access to university research centres for further technical advice. We have long established technical and training links with the University of Ulster enabling cross transfer of the latest ideas and knowledge from education to industry and vice versa.
